Welcome to my Artistic World

Introductions

My Statement

In the realm of artistic expression, I find my voice through the transformative medium of encaustic, a pigmented molten wax applied with the intimate dance of heat. My name is Shanoa Gardiner, and I am an Encaustic Artist.

For me, creating art is more than a process. It is a dynamic and therapeutic journey. Each stroke, each layer of molten wax, becomes a vessel for my emotions, a vivid reflection of my inner world. In the embrace of this ancient technique, I discover a profound and raw energy that serves as both a conduit for personal healing and a source of inspiration for others.

My work is an energetic dialogue that seeks to resonate with the observer. I aspire to create pieces that not only captivate the eye but also touch the soul. Through the interplay of color, texture, and form, I invite viewers to immerse themselves in the emotional narratives woven into each composition.

Art, for me, is a powerful alchemy—it transforms my lived experiences into a visual statement that shapes new possibilities for the present and the future, all while embracing the entirety of the past. In this journey of creation, I aim to evoke a shared resonance, fostering a connection that transcends boundaries.

I invite you to enjoy my artwork to find your own connection within the layers of encaustic expression. Join me in the visual exploration of shared emotional connections.

Awards and Recognition

Recently taking the leap into the realm of a full-time professional artist, my journey has already seen recognition. In 2023, I proudly received a first-place award at the international encaustic show "Flow" in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Additionally, an honorable mention in the 3 Square Non-Objective Abstract Art juried show, was a significant milestone in my evolving career. My work has found its place in private collections, commercial murals, and earned a spot in the prestigious Fulton Library permanent collection.

Outside the Studio

Beyond my studio, I find inspiration from my family and friends. Creativity and exploration fuel my desire to travel and visit museums.  This has influenced my style, with a special interest in the Austrian artistry of Paul Klee and Egon Schiele.

The next biggest influence is my love of nature. The serene and balanced atmosphere of mountain and desert landscapes brings me a sense of peace and unity, which I strive to reflect in my art.
